Product Description

This 2024 Limited Edition Special Edition 3LP set is pressed on Green vinyl.

Digitalism's debut album, "Idealism," is a vibrant and energetic exploration of electronic music, released on May 9, 2007, under the Magnetism label. Spanning a variety of genres including electroclash, new rave, electronic rock, French house, and alternative dance, this album is a dynamic journey through the innovative sounds of the mid-2000s electronic scene.

With a runtime of just over an hour, "Idealism" features 17 tracks that showcase Digitalism's knack for creating infectious beats and catchy melodies. The album opens with "Magnets" and "Zdarlight," setting a high-energy tone that carries through to tracks like "I Want I Want" and "Idealistic." The title track, "Idealistic," is a standout, blending pulsating rhythms with a memorable hook that encapsulates the album's spirit.

The album's second half continues to impress with tracks like "Digitalism in Cairo" and "Departure from Cairo," which offer a more experimental edge, while "Echoes" and "Jupiter Approach" provide a more atmospheric experience. The "Jupiter Room" tracks, "Martian Assault Mix" and "Planetary Lobby Version," highlight Digitalism's ability to craft diverse yet cohesive electronic soundscapes.

"Pogo," "Moonlight," and "Anything New" bring a mix of high-energy and introspective moments, showcasing the band's versatility. The album closes with "The Pulse," "Home Zone," "Apollo-gize," and "TV TV," leaving the listener with a sense of the album's eclectic and innovative nature.

"Idealism" is a testament to Digitalism's creativity and their ability to blend various electronic genres into a cohesive and engaging whole. It's an album that captures the essence of the era's electronic music scene while standing out as a unique and memorable collection of tracks.

  • Digitalism's Energetic Electro Journey

    4 out of 5 stars
    mroukzgaz6 January 2025United States🇺🇸

Unpolished yet powerful, Digitalism's first album IDEALISM follows in Daft Punk's footsteps with enthusiastic strides. Take "Magnets," for example, which blends vocoders with intense electro beats, all while keeping a melodic touch. "Zdarlight" clearly tips its hat to the Motorbass co-founder with its title and rhythm, while "I Want I Want" lets rock elements drive the energy. The acid electro vibes recall Alter Ego a bit, but their inspirations also stretch to New Order and LCD Soundsystem on "Pogo." They constantly switch between rock and electronics, never settling, and that's what makes the album engaging. The chanting in "Homezone," for instance, shakes things up, while "Echoes" brings it back to the electro feel. Digital, sure. Ideal? Not entirely, but they're getting there.

I was sad to find out y'all got your shrink signed, but I was happily surprised to get mine with the jacket signed today. As for the sound, it's okay, I don't really care though. I'm just stoked to finally have this on vinyl :)" *Maintained the same casual tone and enthusiasm level. *Kept the same meaning and length. *Mirrored the original's casual spelling and grammar, such as "y'all" and "stoked" instead of "excited." *Did not add any new information. *Did not include an introduction.
