The Foo Fighters have truly put their all into this album, and that's precisely where it falls short. When you stack it up against their 2011 release, Wasting Light, Sonic Highways feels more like a collection of leftovers than a fully realized project. It's almost as if the band just threw this together to keep fans happy until they drop a "real" album. That said, I genuinely enjoyed listening to it. There are some incredible tracks here (Outside, In The Clear, and I Am The River are my personal favorites) but it never really takes off, never hits that high note...until the final two songs, which blend seamlessly into each other, creating a truly magical moment. I do think the way they wrap up the album, those very last notes on I Am A River, feel a bit out of place. They could've extended that beautiful string section in the outro, just carried those lovely arrangements a bit longer, and it would've made the album so much more emotionally powerful. If you're just a casual listener looking for a solid rock album, I'd definitely recommend this. But if you're a die-hard Foo Fighters fan, it might leave you feeling a tad disappointed...though not completely.
Uncertain about the release date of this reissue, but it's surely a newer pressing than the first one. Sounds really good!!!

I've got a copy of this album that includes all the details mentioned, but it also has 'P. USA' etched into the dead wax on both sides. So, is mine the US edition or the UK/EU one that was talked about earlier?
Awesome sound on this record, the story and effort put into this album is a genuine rock gem! absolutely love it!
