Incredible, this absolutely blew my mind!!! Yet another outstanding Mobley experience, brilliantly captured. The mastering, as always, is flawless too. Vinyl is dead silent, no imperfections, dynamic range is superb, it sounds absolutely stunning!! What in the world took so long to release this? Unbelievable that it gathered dust in the vaults for so many years.
Grabbed this one here in the east, it's perfect, sounds incredible with no drop out like folks mention. Got a solid setup with MC stylus and super happy with this record. 😎
I've been experiencing some frustrating tape skips on track one. Apart from that, it's a fantastic release all around.
Yet another incredible session from the Blue Note Tone Poet series! This album is so cool and really captures the spirit of the time for me, it's exactly what I look for in a Blue Note record. The artwork on the cover sets the perfect vibe. I reckon this might just be my top pick from a long list of favorite releases in this fantastic reissue collection! Everyone involved is absolutely on point, Cedar Walton's piano work truly stands out here with some breathtaking improvisation, but every performance is stellar. Billy Higgins' drumming is phenomenal. The melodies are captivating, unique Hard Bop at its finest! A must-own in my opinion.
Yet another flawless tone poet blue note series. Fantastic songs and performance. And album!
