Incredible pressing. I was hoping and praying for a repress so that I could have my favourite DT album on vinyl for less than the $300+ that earlier pressings were going for! As other have stated, this is a PUNCHY mastering. Soundstage is really great. Don't hesitate. Get it.
My copy came with a second disc 1 (so 3 discs in total, with a duplicate disc 1). If anyone is missing theirs, plmk!
Compared to the CD, the sound seems wider and punchier. Good mastering. The pressing is not bad.
Stellar release. This was my first DT album I've bought, on a CD, back in the day. This vinyl sounds fantastic. The low end on the beginning of As I Am just nailed me to the chair and that was pretty much the attitude for the whole album. Vacant and Stream of Consciousness is just breathtaking. I was kinda cautious approaching this vinyl because I've had some questions to the way Octavarium and Falling Into Infinity sounds on vinyl. But this one is real deal. If you're wondering whether it's worth it - it surely is!
Dream Theater's best. The sound quality and production is fantastic and this repressing will scratch the itch that every DT vinyl collector has. Could not recommend enough.
