Hiss and crackle can be heard in various songs, plus a bit of fuzz. A/B is preferable to C/D, but it's still not great. My copy of Want Two has the same problems.
Delighted to finally own this on vinyl. My copy has a popping sound at the end of song 2 and occasional crackles all over side 1, even after cleaning. It sounds pretty decent overall, but the surface noise is a letdown. Maybe I’ll give it another good scrub…
This is utterly fantastic. Only when you listen to a genuinely quiet record do you really grasp what that implies. It's not just that this is such an incredible album, but it has never sounded this good before.
Got my copy from Band Box, and it's absolutely fantastic! The vinyl is perfectly flat, super quiet, and the mastering is top-notch—these tracks have never sounded so rich and vibrant. The way the instruments are separated is brilliant, and Rufus's vocals shine above everything. Seems like the MOV pressing has a bunch of issues, so I'd really suggest grabbing this version if you can get your hands on it! Looks like it's already sold out on their site, but if you can find one, don't hesitate—this is the best I've ever heard this album!
