This album's been on heavy rotation in my collection for nearly ten years, and it's still as amazing as the day I got it!
Steer clear of this pressing! Numerous returns have been made because of issues at the pressing plant, like deep, squiggly marks that cause popping sounds. Opt for the 8 panel deluxe version or the vinyl me please red version instead. This particular pressing is quite subpar.
This album is absolutely stunning. The sound quality is top-notch and the pressing is superb.
After 16 years of waiting and finally rescued from development limbo (likely due to sorting out the Beatles samples included on it) - Is the new Avalanches album worth the wait? The answer is - Absolutely, it's really good. While their debut "Since I Left You" set a high bar, this highly anticipated second album is still definitely worth owning. While the approach from the first album is largely maintained (except for some guest appearances from alternative hip-hop icons Biz Markie, MF Doom, and Danny Brown among others), this isn't a bad thing as can you imagine if the Avalanches switched their style to polkacore or burpstep - there would be such an outcry! While the first album clearly takes the crown, the second one is still highly recommended. 8/10
Incredible pressing, hardly any surface noise. This album is just as deserving of love as Since I Left You!
