Product description

This 2019 Limited Edition Repress LP is housed in a gatefold, pressed on 180g White vinyl.

Dive into the vibrant and eclectic world of Santana with "Abraxas," the band's second studio album, released in 1970. This iconic record marks a significant evolution from their debut, showcasing a unique blend of Latin rhythms, psychedelic rock, and hard rock that sets it apart from the San Francisco scene of the time. "Abraxas" is a testament to Santana's innovative spirit, featuring a mix of original tracks and captivating covers that highlight the band's versatility and musical prowess.

The album opens with the haunting instrumental "Singing Winds, Crying Beasts," setting the stage for the diverse soundscape that unfolds. Standout tracks like the mesmerizing "Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen," a cover of Fleetwood Mac's song, and the infectious "Oye Como Va," a tribute to Tito Puente, showcase Santana's ability to seamlessly integrate Latin influences into their rock foundation. The album also includes the poignant "Samba Pa Ti," a beautiful instrumental that showcases Carlos Santana's guitar skills, and the uplifting "Hope You're Feeling Better," which adds a touch of optimism to the collection.

"Abraxas" was a commercial success, topping the Billboard 200 and spawning hit singles that introduced Santana to a wider audience. The album's unique sound and cultural fusion have earned it a place among the greatest albums of all time, as recognized by Rolling Stone magazine. With its rich tapestry of sounds and rhythms, "Abraxas" is a timeless classic that continues to inspire and captivate fans of rock and Latin music alike.

This is a fantastic Europian / Holland pressing with superb sound quality. The audio is warm and analog, making it a joy to listen to the music.

  • Holographic Sound, Awesome Bass

This record has a stunningly faithful & holographic sound, with awesome bass. The stereo-mix is fantastic as well. It just seems to hover out of the speakers...

  • 1S Worth the Upgrade?

    5 out of 5 stars
    pmivqutfDecember 24, 2025United States🇺🇸

I'm not sure if I've already shared my thoughts on this, but I'll go ahead and give it another shout. I nearly spent $2K on the 1-Step, but I'm really happy I didn't. The 1S might be a tad bit better, like 10% or so, which is nice, but not worth the current asking price. This version is perfect for me.

  • Original Abraxas Outshines MOFI

    5 out of 5 stars
    ekoldagu564September 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

I own a much-loved and well-played copy of this fantastic LP (even though I personally favor "Santana III") that I bought in Very Good+ condition with a cover ranging from poor to good (REMEMBER THIS!). Unlike my other reviews, I got to compare my copy with the newer MOFI edition (https://www.discogs.com/release/32738337-Santana-Abraxas). My friend, who owns the MOFI, has a supposedly MUCH SUPERIOR SYSTEM than mine, and even HE had to concede that my copy SOUNDS BETTER than his brand new 2024 MOFI version - draw your own conclusions. Now, my copy is this original version and it's NOT noise-free BUT more than acceptable for its age and the many plays it's likely had over its 50+ years. It outperforms the MOFI in every aspect, especially since the MOFI has excessive low-end bass which is harmful and disrupts the LP's flow (PRaT). I'd say that on most turntable setups, these differences would be clearly noticeable. Yes, there are distortions present in the tapes used for these records, but why on earth would anyone want to pay £100 for that? This edition comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED from me - Five Stars, thanks for reading. • Perfect Percussion Pressing

    5 out of 5 stars
    TakikHoqlSeptember 6, 2025United States🇺🇸

Incredible pressing! The soundstage is so wide, with fantastic highs and lows. This album is a true percussion showcase, with each instrument leaping out at you. I can't picture it sounding any more perfect than this.
