Fantastic audio on this '72 reissue without the Van Gelder markings. Don't think twice, just grab it!
Sam Rivers might not be everyone's cup of tea, especially on later recordings, but this album is an absolute avant-garde treasure. It's surprisingly approachable and melodic, with a strong swing driven by Tony Williams' fantastic drumming. The pressing is excellent, full of dynamics, and my copy is flawless.
Awesome album, poor quality pressing. Ron Carter's bass got lost in the mix and it's barely there at all.
VAN GELDER STEREO -stamped records really pack a punch, they're way more impactful than the rest
Amazing, this album totally blows me away. I'd already listened to it on SoundCloud, but this vinyl release is truly special. The music and performance are already fantastic, but the sound quality here is absolutely top-notch. Yet another win for the Bluenote Classic Vinyl series.
