My unit is completely quiet. Not a peep of noise. It sounds amazing. I'm over the moon about this press.
The shade is truly gorgeous and the wrapping is pretty awesome too...but the audio is murky, in a terrible way. It's dull, missing punch, and doesn't hold a candle to the vinyl versus the digital version you hear on Spotify (I just compared both using the same speakers). I dropped 35 Eur on this, but I had to clean it 4 times. Plus, the needle jumped 6 times on side B and C before it became somewhat playable. Edit: I went back to the shop (Fnac Spain) and swapped it for the red version (27433125). I couldn't bear it anymore, it was utterly absurd. This opaque version sounds a million times superior, and I didn't have any skipping issues. Honestly folks, save yourselves the hassle and just steer clear of the transparent versions. They look stunning, but when it comes to big bands the quality control is non-exsistant.
I picked up both the standard green cover version and this green vinyl Blood Records edition (75/1500). In my opinion, this one sounds superior, with a fuller sound and a touch more volume. The clarity is impressive, and there's definitely more bass. Granted, as others have mentioned, the sleeve is a bit on the flimsy side, but the artwork is neat. Also, the sides of the vinyl have a rough texture. I examined it with a magnifying glass, and the roughness seems consistent, so perhaps it's part of the Blood Records design?
Great, spotless pressing. The translucent crystal blue color is nearly indistinguishable from my TRON LEGACY copy. There are some minor surface noise that I'm hoping will vanish. It comes with paper sleeves. Period. I can't wrap my head around the pricing and the rough, sandpaper-like inner sleeves they provide. Apart from that, it's a fantastic new album.
Got my vinyl record straight from the QOTSA website today. Played it once, and it was amazing. The audio quality is fantastic, the pressing is top-notch, and I didn't notice any surface noise with my copy. I've got the blue see-through version, but funny enough, my label says Matador – OLE1947LP, not Matador – OLE1947LP5 like mentioned earlier.
