  • Revenge's Bass-Heavy '80s Energy

    4 out of 5 stars

It's great to have the first (even if not entirely complete) official promo release from A&M. I haven't had the chance to listen to the recent RSD double LP by Revenge, but my '90s CD version sounds less full than this older pressing. Like other recordings of the show, this one is quite bass-heavy. I believe that's just how it was mixed. Andy McCoy's guitar work is very much an '80s sound — more postpunk than proto-metal. The raw energy backing up Ig here is mainly from the rhythm section.

  • Stellar Pressing, Powerful Bass

    5 out of 5 stars

Absolutely stellar pressing, both discs are super quiet, zero background hiss, I can vouch that the bass is powerful and really stands out but it rocks hard just like Iggy and the band did back then. A must-have release! No question about it!

  • Kerrang Giveaway Gem

I managed to snag one of the ten special edition copies that weren't numbered (or at least my copy isn't) from a Kerrang giveaway way back in '89. I still have the contest questions and the Kerrang branded paper it came with. :)
