Product description

This 2024 Limited Edition Reissue Remastered LP is pressed on Blue vinyl.

Released in 1984, "Ride The Lightning" is the second studio album by Metallica, a seminal work that solidified the band's status as pioneers of the thrash metal genre. The album opens with the title track, "Ride The Lightning," a song that sets the tone with its ominous atmosphere and intricate guitar work. "For Whom The Bell Tolls" follows, showcasing Metallica's ability to blend heavy riffs with complex musical arrangements. "Fade To Black" is a standout track, featuring a haunting melody and introspective lyrics that highlight the band's versatility. Other notable tracks include "Creeping Death," a high-energy anthem that has become a staple at Metallica concerts, and "The Call Of Ktulu," an instrumental piece that demonstrates the band's progressive influences.

  • Worthwhile Picture Disk

I'm not usually one to go for picture disks, but this MFN27P seems pretty decent. The lows are there and there's hardly any surface noise. You might need to boost the gain a bit, just keep an eye on the VU meter. I'd say it's worth adding to your collection.

This is a great & quiet pressing. No pops, no scratches on my version. Beautiful color. Very happy.

  • Audio Quality Terrible

I'm all in for this, except the audio quality is terrible.

The vibrant blue electric vinyl truly enhances the experience of the ride the lightning record. All in all, it's an incredible vinyl and album

  • Metallica Remaster Sounds Excellent

    5 out of 5 stars
    yennjcamvecDecember 15, 2025United States🇺🇸

This remastered version was pressed at Metallica's own plant and it sounds fantastic. There's hardly any surface noise and the record is completely flat. I turned up the volume and enjoyed it without any annoying pops or clicks. It comes in a poly-lined sleeve, which honestly, should be the norm for all new records. The sound quality is excellent, just what I'd expect from an 80s Metallica album. I personally prefer my metal to hit hard with the bass, but this one doesn't quite do that. Then again, I haven't found many from this era that do, so it's not a knock against this record.
