This album is absolutely incredible. A local record shop guy recommended it to me after I mentioned my love for Brazilian music. It's, as the AllMusic reviewer put it, a bit much at times, even with its minimalistic approach. It's just so down-to-earth and out-of-this-world simultaneously! The guy was a true genius. I can totally see why he was also a sought-after session musician.
I've just found out about it, B1 is such a huge huge treasure as the entire album.
Truly one of the greatest Brazilian instrumental albums out there! Nana was an absolute genius.
An exploration of minimalism and counterpoint, bound together by heavenly melodies and a very delicate string backdrop. Immersing yourself in this album while in a calm state and giving it your full focus can lead to an enchanting journey. It's one of the most profound and captivating vinyl records in my collection. There's not much else to add beyond that.
I might've gotten fortunate, but this is hands-down one of the quietest pressings I've come across.The mastering is top-notch too, even if it leans a bit warm, much like Gnu High from the same Luminessence collection.
