Product description

This 2022 Limited Edition Reissue Anniversary Edition LP is pressed on Red vinyl.

Dive into the high-energy world of glam metal with Skid Row's self-titled debut album, released in January 1989. This quintuple-Platinum record is a powerhouse of hard-hitting tracks that defined an era of rock music. With a runtime of just under 40 minutes, this album packs a punch with iconic songs like "18 and Life," "Youth Gone Wild," and the anthemic "Big Guns," all of which showcase the band's signature blend of catchy melodies and heavy riffs. Fronted by the charismatic Sebastian Bach, Skid Row delivers a raw and energetic performance that captures the spirit of late-80s rock. The album features the guitar prowess of Scotti Hill and Dave "Snake" Sabo, who contribute to the album's signature sound. Produced by Michael Wagener, "Skid Row" is a classic piece of rock history that continues to influence and inspire fans and musicians alike. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to Skid Row's music, this album is a essential addition to any rock collection.

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • Bright and Tiring Pressing

    3 out of 5 stars
    gmgwDecember 25, 2025United States🇺🇸

This particular pressing seems overly bright to my liking and can be quite tiring on the ears. The cymbals stand out too much when compared to the rest of the instruments. I haven't had the chance to listen to other pressings to make a comparison, though.

  • Reissue Needs Multiple Spins

    5 out of 5 stars
    tesaet.dmowe.kwDecember 14, 2025United States🇺🇸

Initially, I felt this release was quite squashed and lifeless! But after giving it a third go on my "ortiphon blue" stylus and "schit mani" preamp, I've softened my stance a tad! It's still a bit squished, but not as much as it was in the first couple of listens! It's "alright" sounding, but if I was you I'd give it a few spins (on a decent setup) before making up your mind! It's a "fair" Reissue!

Relayer Records put out a fantastic reissue with a great sound and a really cool color

I can't really compare this to a US or European version. But I'm not aware of many great pressings of this album out there? This might be as good as it gets right now. It's certainly way better than that recent 2019 reissue.

  • Decent Late 80's Remake

    3 out of 5 stars
    SufrovoyYowulNovember 26, 2025United States🇺🇸

Apart from the sudden crackles and weak bass, it sounds quite decent. —Reminds me of every other late 80’s remake.
