  • Jazz Reissue with Hits

Speaker's Corner reissue - can't quite recall the reissue date, but I bought it new from a Paris store around 2009. The cover's gorgeous, but the disc has some surface hiss from the pressing :-(It's some nice, cool jazz, though a few tracks are a bit too easy listening for my taste (like 'Ob La Di Ob La Da'). The band really shines on several tracks, though - definitely worth picking up if you're into the CTI series from the early 70s (Wes Montgomery, Emir Deudato, etc.).Not Desmond's best album (I've been really enjoying 'Reunion' lately), but there are several standout tracks here.

  • Promo Jazz Gem

This is a promo version and it sounds incredible. What a fantastic release under the A&M label. Look at the credits for a star-studded lineup of musicians featuring Herbie Hancock, Joe Beck, Bucky Pizzarelli, JJ Johnson, Mike Manieri, Airto, and Ron Carter. Beautiful performance by Paul Desmond.
