Product description

This 2021 Limited Edition Repress 2LP set is pressed on 180g Silver vinyl.

After nearly two decades of silence in the studio, Blue Öyster Cult roars back with "The Symbol Remains," their fourteenth studio album, released on October 9, 2020, via Frontiers Records. This classic rock powerhouse delivers a collection of 14 tracks that span over an hour, each song a testament to the band's enduring prowess and timeless appeal.

"The Symbol Remains" is a celebration of Blue Öyster Cult's signature sound, blending hard rock energy with classic rock sensibilities. From the opening track "That Was Me" to the closing anthem "Fight," the album is packed with infectious riffs, powerful vocals, and memorable melodies. Standout tracks like "Box in My Head," "Nightmare Epiphany," and "The Alchemist" showcase the band's knack for crafting catchy, energetic songs that are as fun as they are hard-hitting.

The album features a mix of old and new, with songs that harken back to the band's glory days while also pushing their sound forward. "The Return of St. Cecilia" and "Florida Man" are prime examples of Blue Öyster Cult's ability to blend the familiar with the fresh, resulting in a sound that is uniquely their own.

"The Symbol Remains" is not just a return to form for Blue Öyster Cult, but a statement of intent. This is a band that, even after all these years, is still hungry, still creative, and still capable of delivering the goods. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to their music, this album is sure to satisfy your craving for classic, no-nonsense rock 'n' roll. So crank up the volume, let the guitars roar, and enjoy the show.

  • Blue Öyster Cult's Timeless Triumph

    4 out of 5 stars
    GonoxXV563January 3, 2025United States🇺🇸

Despite their long history and only two original members left, this album is fantastic. The production isn't top-notch, and the autotune on Buck's voice feels out of place, but that doesn't stop these tracks from being amazing. "The Alchemist" is the standout, capturing the essence of BÖC perfectly. The band shows growth by letting different members take the lead vocals, and Richie knocks it out of the park. It's a refreshing and enjoyable album from a band that's been around for half a century.

  • Triumphant Yet Inconsistent Return

    4 out of 5 stars
    _Ekbzisasebe_November 2, 2024United States🇺🇸

This album feels like a triumphant return in numerous aspects, and I genuinely loved it. However, I'm afraid this might truly mark the conclusion of BOC's journey. There are some outstanding and even humorous tracks that make this a strong release, but a few of the more mundane moments can disrupt the flow. "Edge of the World" and "Secret Road" are definitely among their finest works.

  • Timeless Revival

    4 out of 5 stars
    nejoihohcovOctober 1, 2024United Kingdom🇬🇧

Wow, what a wake-up call! This album is a true successor to their earlier works. Richie Castellano, who penned many of these fresh tracks, has captured the essence of the band's iconic early compositions. Just check out 'The Alchemist,' it's like a nod to 'Astronomy.' Without a doubt, one of the year's finest albums. And when you're done with the last song, don't hesitate to spin the first track all over again!

  • Great Album, Great Value

    3 out of 5 stars
    NidavWihtxalJune 14, 2024United States🇺🇸

The album comes in a shiny, gatefold cover with white paper sleeves and no digital download option. There's a cool holographic sticker right on the back cover, just like in the release pictures. The music is fantastic, with some amazing tracks and performances. "Nightmare Epiphany" has an awesome extended jam section that's worth checking out again and again. "The Return Of St. Cecilia" kicks things off with a bang, it's a solid, driving rock song that really hits the spot. The pressing is decent, no issues here. It's not an audiophile release or anything, but the sound is good. I grabbed it for $20AUD on Amazon and was more than happy with that price.

  • Amazing Tunes, Poor Quality

Amazing tunes, terrible LP quality or pressing...
