  • Best Mixed Color Vinyl Ever

    4 out of 5 stars
    Tuhoc1December 14, 2025United States🇺🇸

Having the lyrics included would've been a nice touch, but apart from that, this pressing is absolutely fantastic. I'm not sure how they managed it, but it's the best sounding mixed color vinyl in my collection. Usually, these can be quite noisy, but not this one. The surface noise is practically non-existent. The mastering is top-notch, I'd even say it's better than digital playback. Overall, a fantastic job.

  • Muddy Sound, Thick Vinyl

    4 out of 5 stars
    Jaigt74December 13, 2025United States🇺🇸

Prior to spinning, I gave the vinyl a good clean, it arrived in a basic paper sleeve, and I moved it to a MoFi inner sleeve. There was still a bit of surface hiss. The red vinyl was flat and quite thick. The volume was incredibly low, and the sound was so 'muddy'. I regret not going for an original pressing. I considered giving 3 stars but upped it to 4 due to the nice gatefold.

  • Analog Pressing Delivers Rich Warmth

    5 out of 5 stars
    xasviepqgiflh462November 25, 2025United States🇺🇸

Before, I'd only heard the CD version, but I was never truly fond of its sound. It seemed over-polished to me. So, I was thrilled to get my hands on this new pressing. It's even more hi-fi than I anticipated, yet it keeps that perfect touch of grit and that wonderful 3D feel that only comes from a fully analog recording. I've gained a whole new appreciation for this album now. It's so rich, warm, and punchy. I'm absolutely blown away by this pressing!

  • Sly's Masterpiece in Red Vinyl

    5 out of 5 stars
    jfaiquOctober 25, 2025United States🇺🇸

Great pressing. The translucent red vinyl really fits the mood, capturing Sly's simmering frustration during this phase of his career. Unlike earlier S&TFS albums, this one leans into deep bass grooves and powerful social messages. Maybe Sly's final masterpiece, and this edition does it justice, offering an immersive soundscape with impressive depth and clarity. It pushes my setup to its limits - Rega RP3, Dynavector 10x5 with P75 phono stage, Parasound HINT6, ATC SCM11 speakers. Pure funk, man.

  • Balanced Sound, Dull Artwork

    5 out of 5 stars
    niznanj386October 5, 2025United States🇺🇸

This one is absolutely fantastic, though I'd say the KPG Sundazed might just have a slight edge. It's wonderfully balanced and, in terms of tone, it's nearly identical to the superb MOV version, though it does offer a bit more depth in the soundstage. All three are fantastic, and I'd be thrilled with any of them for mastering. A few more thoughts... the GZ Media US plant clear/red wheel vinyl is flat and incredibly quiet, which isn't always a given! The jacket is well-constructed but the artwork is a bit dull and muted, in my opinion. I think the MOV and Sundazed versions look better! Still, I'd easily recommend this copy, but the Music On Vinyl is half the price, pressed on better vinyl, and has better artwork, so it's hard not to recommend that to most people who won't notice the slight soundstage difference unless they're doing direct, side-by-side comparisons.
