Product description

This 2023 Reissue Remastered Special Edition LP is pressed on 180g Blue vinyl.

Dive into the raw energy of the German rock legends, Scorpions, with their fourth studio album, "Virgin Killer," released in 1976. This hard rock masterpiece marked the band's first significant breakthrough outside of Europe, setting the stage for their future global success. With a runtime of just 35 minutes, "Virgin Killer" is Scorpions' shortest album, but it packs a powerful punch with its nine high-octane tracks.

The album opens with the infectious "Pictured Life," a song that immediately grabs your attention with its catchy riffs and soaring vocals. "Catch Your Train" and "In Your Park" follow, showcasing the band's knack for crafting memorable rock anthems. The controversial title track, "Virgin Killer," is a standout, with its provocative lyrics and heavy guitar work. Other highlights include the blistering "Hell Cat," the introspective "Crying Days," and the hauntingly beautiful "Polar Nights."

"Virgin Killer" is a testament to Scorpions' early prowess as a hard rock band, blending elements of glam metal and classic rock to create a sound that is uniquely their own. The album's original cover, featuring a nude prepubescent girl, sparked controversy but also generated significant buzz, helping to propel the album to new heights. Whether you're a long-time fan of Scorpions or a newcomer to their music, "Virgin Killer" is an essential addition to any rock music collection. So, crank up the volume and let the powerful riffs and soaring vocals of Scorpions transport you back to the golden age of hard rock.

  • Scorpions Japanese Vinyl Rocks

    4 out of 5 stars

Back in the early 80s, I picked this up at Tower Records in LA. They had this import section where I grabbed all the Scorpions' censored covers. This one, along with Animal Magnetism and In Trance. I reckon I only paid around $12 for it new back then. Sadly, as a teenager, I must've tossed the OBI strip. But everything else is intact. I've also got the US cover version. This Japanese one sounds "killer"! Though I gotta say, my Japanese Fly To The Rainbow is even better. Early Scorpions rock!!

  • Kevin Gray's Clear Pressing

    5 out of 5 stars
    VMtalzwakolAugust 26, 2025United States🇺🇸

This is the only pressing I've come across, and it's incredibly clear, punchy, and silent. I'm really pleased with it. It's a limited, numbered edition mastered by Kevin Gray, housed in a heavy gatefold jacket.

  • Scorpions Vinyl Sounds Best

    5 out of 5 stars
    qucqwpqicsg0May 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

This is an outstanding vinyl pressing with superb sound quality. It absolutely surpasses RCA International and RCA versions, with much clearer bass in the mix. The dynamics are improved, and this is the best version of Backstage Queen I've encountered. It sounds analogue to me, with no harshness even at full volume. Note - Fly to the Rainbow (self-produced) was always a superior recording to the next three Scorpions releases (produced by Dieter Dierks). • Scorpions Masterpiece Impresses

    5 out of 5 stars
    xzofjoApril 29, 2025United States🇺🇸

Don't just take my word for it, this album is truly something special. I'm no die-hard Scorpions enthusiast, but this pressing is so impressive that it turns even a laid-back listener into a devoted follower. Listening to it on my Sansui AU20000 has me dreaming of being their backstage VIP. Side B is an absolute clinic in hard, metallic rock. The person who mastered this Japanese original pressing must be a true genius.

not the most loud but an amazing production, this album is a must own!
