  • Joyful Album, Flawless Sound

    4 out of 5 stars

This album is a delight, perfect for repeated listening, sheer joy to the ears. The pressing is top-notch, the record almost flawless, plays beautifully. The sound is excellent, no distortion, and the cover, as usual, is of high quality with great graphics. I'd definitely recommend it. Enjoy it! • Pet Shop Boys' Sonic Masterpiece

    5 out of 5 stars

An utter must-have. A prized possession. A sonic masterpiece. Pet Shop Boys and Mark Farrow truly outdid themselves. A fusion of music and Graphic / Industrial design.

  • Disappointing Album Mastering

    4 out of 5 stars
    hoxtigcayJune 16, 2025United States🇺🇸

I've been holding out, hoping the album YES would finally be released with improved mastering compared to the original CD versions. But now that this LP is out, I'm left feeling let down. The album's still overloaded, the bass is too harsh, almost unbearable on my favorite track "Did You See Me Coming?", just as distorted as it was before on the album, singles, or promos. That said, the release itself is decent, the print and artwork are really good, and the volume is quite high. It's a must-have, but I'd rate it 4/5.

  • Remastered Album Shines Bright

    5 out of 5 stars
    FuglxFebruary 18, 2025United States🇺🇸

This remaster is a solid step up from the 2009 version. That oddly softened high end, likely due to the original master being too loud and squashed, has been restored, bringing back details like the snappy hi-hat in Did You See Me Coming? to the forefront. I'm not sure if it's because of the extra space in this new remaster or just a better pressing, but it's the version this album always deserved. The artwork is spot-on with the original, even the printed inside of the inner sleeve, so this is definitely the one to pick up. P.S. there are two slight mix differences, one in Love Etc. under the Gerhard Richter line, and a glitch in the intro of Building A Wall, but it's not enough to take away from the overall improvement.

  • Overwhelming, lacks dynamic range

    3 out of 5 stars
    Qulunmuajoj.September 30, 2024United States🇺🇸

It still feels like it's got too much going on and lacks dynamic range. Far from the top-notch work we had back in the 80s/90s.
