This collection offers a fantastic glimpse into Jimi Hendrix's recording journey, with the Blu-ray 5.1 mixes being absolutely breathtaking. I'll definitely be giving this entire set a few more listens. However, the CD packaging is a letdown, as all three discs came out scratched. The Blu-ray, on the other hand, is housed better and is scratch-free. I suspect this issue is consistent across all new copies. Both sets I've encountered had the same problem. It's a shame about the packaging for such an amazing collection. Deducting one star due to the packaging.
Far from being a last-ditch effort, this is simply mind-blowing. I'm utterly amazed that such top-tier, flawless material is still out there. Wow!!!!!!!!!! A stunning box set and arguably the finest release from the Hendrix estate yet.
Did anyone else spot that the spine of LP 2 is printed as 'LP 2' and not written out like the rest (like LP Three, LP One, etc.)?
Gorgeous box set. Unfortunately, all 5 discs are pretty warped. The needle keeps jumping around! But it plays fine and sounds incredible!
I've only gotten to disc 2 so far, and the audio quality is fantastic. But I'm a bit puzzled. Wouldn't you need a turntable that supports 5.1 surround sound to actually hear the audio in that format? Right now, I've got it connected to my home theater system. But just like with my Blu-ray player and any other devices hooked up to my Denon receiver, they all need to be 5.1 capable to play and output 5.1 surround sound. I'm just wondering and I've never come across a record with 5.1 surround audio tracks before. I checked online and it's not a mistake either. How exactly is this being achieved? Does anyone know? As far as I'm aware, there's never been a 5.1 capable turntable made yet v 🤔Bootradr
