I must say, my version feels a tad lifeless. I had to tweak the tone settings to inject some vitality into it. I switched back and forth between stereo and mono, ultimately opting for mono as it seemed more robust. I couldn't quite discern any notable differences in the soundstage, though. Not what I'd call an audiophile-grade recording, in my view. After some adjustments, it started to sound alright. But I'd still classify it as a flat mix. I know this might clash with other reviews here. I'm as surprised as anyone. Hana ML > McIntosh C8 > McIntosh 152 > Maggies
There's a hint of background noise, but it's totally overshadowed by the fantastic music. Joe's sax just bursts into the room. A great reissue.
