This is likely the most impactful album of the 80's, sparking the entire 'New Romantic' synth-pop genre that defined practically every major band of the decade (think Falco, New Order, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, and more) launched in 1980.
This re-release sounds fantastic. It's right up there with the original UK version.
An essential collection for anyone into early electronic music. Overlook Midge Ure and the later Ultravox, it's Gary Numan and his Foxx project that truly shines in this particular electronic music genre,
Absolutely, this album kickstarted the careers of countless 'cold sounding' synthetic, atmospheric electro and synthpop musicians for the following decades. If you check out recent releases from Adult., Le Car, and stuff on Clone records, it all echoes the same vibe as this album did a quarter of a century ago.
