Finally, the complete album is out digitally, on LP, and CD, featuring the full cover art (not the cropped one initially released). The absolute highlights are: the stunning cover of My Prayer, which would be a perfect single right now, my all-time favorite MC track, Do You Think of Me (I'd love an a-capella version and some shadow remixes someday, please), the full version of Anytime You Need a Friend (so gorgeous and powerful), and the enchanting, hummingbird-like a-capella of Music Box, the title track. The duet with Luther, previously a standalone single, is the ultimate version of this song and fits amazingly well here. The incredible talent shines through, with Mimi showcasing her full octave range beautifully. This is the 5 Diamond Edition of the record, in my opinion, the peak of Mariah’s perfection. 💎💎💎💎💎
Recent pressings of this album don't come with a hype sticker or a download code! Most Mariah Carey vinyl releases since MC30 have been like this.
Bad quality, lots of hiss and crackles. Not worth the money.
I recently picked up my copy from JB HIFI here in Australia. The original LP does have a touch of harshness in the high frequencies... And quite a few crackles and ticks - they're more noticeable on the first couple of songs for me. On the third track, it's less of an issue. Maybe with more cleanings, it'll improve? The B side has fewer imperfections, but I reckon that's because I gave it a once-over with an anti-static brush. The harshness is less on the B side too. I'm with the other users on how the other LPs sound so much better and are well-balanced! Fewer crackles and ticks.
Audio quality is fantastic, though my copy has some surface hiss on side one, not the entire side! Incredible Babyface production! Mariah's finest work! Packed with the biggest 90's smashes!
