I grabbed this mainly for the unique artwork, but I was also expecting an upgrade in sound quality from my first copy. Honestly, there's not much of a difference. Sure, the record sounds good, but there are some variations between the two. The original version has a broader sound range, while this new one seems more squeezed together. I can definitely hear details better on that first pressing. It's not a bad reissue though, mind you. The printed insert is made of really thin paper, but the jacket is a nice, thicker single pocket, which is an improvement over the original.
This album is absolutely fantastic. The sound quality on this pressing is top-notch on my setup.
I'm thrilled I checked out these reviews first. I was aiming for the new marbled version, but at the price I paid including shipping, I just couldn't resist getting this one instead.
Wow, the sound quality is amazing! I'm really excited about this record, which I coincidentally found at Walmart, believe it or not.
Truthfully, this is among the finest records in my collection. It's a personal opinion, of course, but what an incredible album. Side B stands out for me, especially with gems like "Innocent Vigilant Ordinary" and "A Dream For Us". The translucent splatter green vinyl is a sight to behold when it's spinning. The included poster is pretty cool, but it feels a bit off since it's so dark and gives off heavy metal vibes.
