Product description

This is a 2025 Reissue released as a LP.

Appetite for Destruction is the explosive debut studio album from American hard rock titans, Guns N' Roses, unleashed onto the world on 21 July 1987 via Geffen Records. Despite an initially modest reception, this 53-minute masterclass in raw, unadulterated rock would soon become a cultural phenomenon, catapulting the band to global stardom.

The album's title track, 'Welcome to the Jungle', sets the tone with its frenetic energy and Axl Rose's distinctive, powerful vocals. From there, the band tears through a collection of hard rock anthems that showcase their signature blend of glam metal, classic rock, and hard rock influences. Standout tracks like 'Sweet Child o' Mine', 'Paradise City', and 'Nightrain' are testament to the band's songwriting prowess and musical virtuosity, with each song a testament to the raw, unfiltered energy that defined the era.

'Appetite for Destruction' is not just an album; it's a snapshot of a band on the brink of superstardom, capturing the essence of Los Angeles' seedy underbelly and the hedonistic lifestyle that accompanied it. The album's gritty, unpolished production only serves to enhance its raw appeal, making it a timeless classic that continues to resonate with rock fans today.

With over 28 million copies sold worldwide and an 18-times platinum certification from the RIAA, 'Appetite for Destruction' is not just a debut album; it's a statement of intent from a band that would go on to redefine the landscape of rock music. From the blistering guitar riffs of Slash to the thunderous drumming of Steven Adler, every member of Guns N' Roses brings their A-game, resulting in an album that is as powerful and enduring as the band itself.

  • Sound Quality, But Noisy

    5 out of 5 stars
    zubsu_boDecember 22, 2025United States🇺🇸

The sound quality of this pressing is absolutely fantastic. However, since there's a ton of music crammed onto each side, you've got to crank up the volume quite a bit, which unfortunately also boosts any background noise unless you've got a top-notch copy.

  • US SRC Pressing Excellence

    5 out of 5 stars
    GlexilDecember 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

This initial US SRC pressing (E.A.S.T. text imprinted on the R-side of the label) delivers fantastic sound quality. The audio is vibrant, dynamic, open, and clear. Based in Olyphant PA, Specialty Records Corp. [SP or SRC] served as WEA's "EAST" Coast production facility.

  • Disappointing Album Quality

    1 out of 5 stars
    MirfuzKueuhPDecember 10, 2025United States🇺🇸

I've been wanting to get this album since I got my record player, but it was never on sale until Black Friday, so I grabbed it. "Sweet Child O' Mine" is the best song ever, no question. This record, though, has left me really let down. It might be the worst out of the 50+ records I own, and that includes some used ones. The sound is just lifeless. There's no depth to it. The instruments overpower the vocals, and that would be fine if the whole thing wasn't so flat. Nothing really pops, it all just blends together. I've heard better quality MP3s, honestly. I'm really bummed about this.

  • 80s Vinyl: Narrow Soundstage

    4 out of 5 stars
    pokpquljnipDecember 7, 2025United States🇺🇸

Ah, the 80s. Digital was just around the bend. CDs were ready to take over. I reckon because of that, this record just feels a tad squashed to me, the instruments don't quite separate like they should, and the soundstage is rather narrow. Nothing truly shines on these tracks - it's all one big, blended sound. Sure, this was the era of big, loud 80s heavy metal, but my LPs from the 70s just pull me in more. That said, the Japan pressing is dead silent as you'd expect, no bothersome hiss, pops, or clicks like you often get with American pressings; the vinyl is pristine, not recycled, and I reckon the Japanese took better care of their records, so my Japan vinyl is flawless.

  • Incredible 2018 Release

Incredible new release! The foil tip cover looks stunning and the 2018 version sounds fantastic! Definitely worth checking out!
