Product description

This is a 2023 Limited Edition Reissue released as a 2LP set.

Björk's "Biophilia," released on October 10, 2011, under One Little Independent Records, is a groundbreaking exploration of art pop and trip hop that spans a captivating 63 minutes. This album is a unique blend of music and science, delving into the natural world and the cosmos. Each track is named after a natural phenomenon or concept, reflecting Björk's fascination with the interconnectedness of life and the universe.

From the ethereal "Moon" to the powerful "Thunderbolt," and the intricate "Crystalline," the album showcases Björk's signature experimental style and her ability to create immersive soundscapes. "Biophilia" is not just an album; it's an educational experience, with Björk providing detailed explanations of each natural phenomenon that inspired the tracks. The album also includes interactive apps for iOS and Android, allowing fans to explore the music in a multimedia format.

Highlights include the hauntingly beautiful "Dark Matter," the hypnotic "Mutual Core," and the extended version of "Hollow." The album concludes with "Náttúra," a song dedicated to the natural beauty of Iceland, Björk's homeland. "Biophilia" is a testament to Björk's innovative spirit and her commitment to pushing the boundaries of music.

How do we keep reviews authentic?

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • Muddy Vinyl Disappointment

    3 out of 5 stars
    cuphus_udaaJanuary 2, 2026United States🇺🇸

This vinyl is incredibly muddy, I reckon there was a real mess-up in the mastering or the cutting process for this LP. It's missing that crispness of the instruments you hear on the album and it's pretty low on treble and vocal details. It's one of her finest albums yet, but this LP version is a real letdown. (I heard they're all bad, which is such a disappointment)

  • Fortunate Few Crackles

    4 out of 5 stars
    vuoktuokviqnNovember 30, 2025United States🇺🇸

I suppose I'm pretty fortunate since my version only has a few crackles. Maybe 3 tops.

  • Blue Vinyl Delight

    5 out of 5 stars
    yyeuveNovember 2, 2025United States🇺🇸

The sound quality of my record is fantastic, no crackles or pops at all! I must admit, reading some of the other reviews had me a bit concerned. But my blue vinyl looks absolutely gorgeous, and the waves on it add such a cool aesthetic vibe!" (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same meaning, enthusiasm, and casual tone. It also includes a similar type of error as the original, "gives it an aesthetic touch" vs "add such a cool aesthetic vibe", where "aesthetic" is used in a slightly unconventional way.)

  • Ultrasonic Cleaning Success

    5 out of 5 stars
    zenqefjipOctober 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

Definitely needed a thorough clean and an ultrasonic soak to remove all the gunk from the inner sleeves. After that, most of the crackling noise others talked about vanished, and now it sounds fantastic.

  • Terrible Audio Quality

    1 out of 5 stars
    .havamivq.October 12, 2025United States🇺🇸

Audio quality is terrible. Everything's all muffled and sounds even worse than the mp3 versions.
