This one's a bit of a mixed bag for me. I was let down by the voices in the soundstage, but the rest was top-notch. It's a superb pressing, but the imaging/soundstage mixing didn't quite hit the mark. On a side note, I really enjoyed the movie of this Mexico City concert, it's absolutely worth watching.
This vinyl release isn't up to par, the mix on the live tracks is way off - whoever handled the mix for this one didn't get it right - the vocals are way too loud and unpolished, the drums are way too prominent - some tracks are so muddled, you can't even hear the keyboard parts - and the audience sounds like they're not even there. Comparing it to the audio mix from the Blu-ray concert - that's how this vinyl should sound, properly balanced. It feels like a mistake was made with this release.
Amazing show, amazing performance and top-notch pressings. Super clean and rich sound with incredibly dynamic and detailed music presentation. Would definitely recommend to all!!!!
Certain people might gripe about the 4 songs per side on this Vinyl, but trust me, they had a reason. This live album is phenomenal, and live albums aren't usually my thing.
Even though the price was quite steep, I was initially concerned about the quality of the pressing. "Made in the EU" usually tips me off that it might be from GZ Media, which has given me some of the poorest pressings in my collection. But this release is exceptional, the record is completely silent and, as "U00229" puts it, rich, open, and perfectly balanced. Highly recommend!
