The record I received had a slight warp, causing side A to play a bit unevenly. This might have made the background surface noise more noticeable on that side. Side B has some crackling, but it's quite low in volume and barely noticeable over the music. However, this side plays completely flat. Despite the issues, the mastering is pretty good. I'll keep this copy, even with its flaws. This album's pressing is flawless. Wilco's music is always a thrill to hear, even if I wouldn't put this one at the top of their discography.
Hands down, one of the finest sounding records I own. Barely any surface hiss, fantastic soundstage and dynamics, plus that distinctive color. Absolutely nothing but praise for this package and pressing.
Wilco, Chris Bellman, and Bob Ludwig together create something truly flawless. This is an incredibly underappreciated album that shines even more on vinyl. Two standout aspects of this pressing: Glenn’s drums (a standout element on Ode to Joy) really leap out — powerful bass with intent. And the soundstage on We Were Lucky! Absolutely breathtaking.
