Product description

This 2020 Reissue LP is pressed on 180g vinyl.

Dive into the latest offering from legendary rock band The Who with their 2020 deluxe edition of "WHO." This album is a treasure trove for fans, featuring an updated version of "Beads On One String," newly remixed by the iconic Pete Townshend. The deluxe edition is a double CD set, with the first disc containing the original album tracks and the second disc capturing an intimate acoustic performance recorded live in Kingston upon Thames on Valentine's Day 2020. This special show marked the 50th anniversary of The Who's seminal Live at Leeds performance, adding a layer of historical significance to the release.

The album kicks off with the powerful "All This Music Must Fade" and includes standout tracks like "Ball and Chain," "Detour," and "She Rocked My World." The live tracks from the Kingston show offer a unique, stripped-down perspective on classic Who songs, featuring acoustic renditions of "Substitute," "Tattoo," and "The Kids Are Alright," among others. The deluxe edition also includes a Yaggerdang remix of "Beads On One String," adding a modern twist to the band's timeless sound.

"WHO" is a testament to The Who's enduring legacy and their ability to evolve while staying true to their rock roots. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to their music, this deluxe edition offers a comprehensive and engaging experience that showcases the band's musical prowess and historical impact. The album is a celebration of The Who's enduring legacy, featuring a mix of powerful rock anthems and intimate acoustic performances that highlight the band's versatility and depth.

  • Pete's Tracks Shine

    4 out of 5 stars
    noziquckbe23December 31, 2025United States🇺🇸

In my view, the tracks sung by Pete are way better than the rest of the album. Roger seems to be shouting rather than singing. Though, Ball and Chain is an amazing song. But after listening to it a few times, it turns out to be a really good Who album, maybe the best since "Face Dances.

  • Townsend Copies Pop Fad

Ugh! What's the deal with Break The News?? It really seems like Townsend is copying a current pop fad, and not a very pleasant one either.

  • The Who's Triumphant Return

    4 out of 5 stars
    renhssucboo1817July 13, 2025United States🇺🇸

After spinning this new record by the remaining members of The Who a few times, I've reached an unexpected verdict. Barring the absence of the late John Entwistle's bass and vocals, this stellar album feels more authentically 'Who' than the decent but somewhat detached post-Keith Moon efforts "Face Dances" and "It's Hard". It's certainly leagues ahead of 2006's lackluster "Endless Wire". The 11 new tracks feel vibrant, catchy, and timely, while capturing that distinctive classic 'Who' charm that was absent in the post-Keith Moon albums. Notable guest spots include Zak Starkey, Matt Chamberlain, and Joey Waronker on drums, and Benmont Tench on keyboards. I'm a bit bummed I skipped their tour last fall, as tracks like "All This Music Must Fade", "Ball And Chain", "I Don't Wanna Get Wise", and "Hero Ground Zero" could've easily stood alongside their 70's hits. This standard black vinyl LP version is expertly mastered and pressed, and includes an inner sleeve with artwork and credits.

Fantastic sounding record. My copy is a bit different, as the runout on side b shows 196766E2/A1 instead of /A2. Wonder why?
