  • Picture Disc Triumphs

    4 out of 5 stars
    Spencer BerglundJanuary 9, 2026United States🇺🇸

Isn't it crazy how a re-mastered picture disc LP can outshine a re-mastered CD? I grabbed this album, along with Rust in Peace, Peace Sells, and Youthanasia, all in picture disc format from FYE for about 25 bucks each, down from 45. Youthanasia's the only dud in the bunch. Back in my teen years, I was all about this album, especially 'Ashes in Your Mouth'. From start to finish, it's a masterpiece, pure talent at work.

  • Picture Disc Delight

    5 out of 5 stars
    Claire GalloDecember 25, 2025United States🇺🇸

Is the sound quality good for a vinyl release? Not really, it's just okay, mediocre at best. But for a picture disc, it's absolutely great, with a surprisingly quiet pressing. Is it a good substitute for a first press? Yes, in every way, especially since good condition copies cost over 100€. My copy was very flat and clean, so overall, it was a pretty enjoyable experience with this picture disc, aside from the typical PD issues.

  • Improved but Flawed Mix

    4 out of 5 stars
    Sven StanleyDecember 18, 2025United States🇺🇸

This album sounds a LOT better than the one I bought a couple of months ago. I can certainly notice a bit of noise between songs and during quieter moments, but it's not bothersome; it's kind of like listening to an old record that's seen some playtime. Like others have mentioned, the mixing is a bit off. Dave's vocals and guitar are definitely turned up in the mix. The bass and drums are way too quiet, which is a real shame (especially the kick drum). I wouldn't mind if it was just the bass that was turned down, but pushing the drums back as much as he did is a real letdown for the whole album. So, while this isn't the best way to experience this classic, it's pretty decent for the price. I really wish the MoFi version was more budget-friendly.

  • Muddy but Decent Sound

    4 out of 5 stars
    Faye LeeDecember 18, 2025United States🇺🇸

Alright, so it's got a decent sound and it's not that old 2004 remix, but honestly, it's worse than the CD in some aspects because it's a bit muddy. It's not the top-tier out there, but it's definitely better than the Brazil or picture disc versions. It's a good deal for the price, but not worth the $300 or $350 people are asking for it.

  • Bootleg Matches Original

    5 out of 5 stars
    Johnny MichelDecember 5, 2025United States🇺🇸

I got a fantastic version of the bootleg release. My brother, who owns the original from '92, compared it to mine, and they sound nearly the same.
