Excellent pressing, not too loud, flat and enhanced soundstage. Bold sounding and alive, better than original. Not too brash and gain is a little low but stable. Bit noisy, but after using my Zerostat gun, it was ok. Sparkle and cracks are because of heightened static and after a de-static and clean, sounds great.

The Cult's 'Electric'... the most balls-out rockin' thunder-beast of 1987. This mastering from MASTERDISK absolutely pounds! Wanna find out if your stereo can pee in the tall grass with the big dogs, then crank this sucker to 11 & hang on for your life. Just might be the best-sounding hard-rock LP ever made...

Very nice sounding copy of this album, no background noise or pops(after cleaning). Clean sounding and a great stereo image, a good bass heavy album.Set-up: Denon DL103R, Thorens TD160, Cambridge Duo and CX61, Kef R7

Product description

This 2023 Limited Edition Reissue LP is pressed on Blue vinyl.

"Electric" is the third studio album by British rock band The Cult, released on April 6, 1987, under Beggars Banquet. This album marked a significant shift in the band's sound, moving away from their gothic rock roots to embrace a more traditional hard rock and glam metal style. With a runtime of just 38 minutes, "Electric" is a tight, energetic collection of tracks that showcase The Cult's new direction. Standout songs like "Wild Flower," "Love Removal Machine," and "Born To Be Wild" (a cover of the classic Nashvileteens song) highlight the band's heavier, more aggressive sound, while tracks like "Peace Dog" and "Aphrodisiac Jacket" retain a touch of their gothic sensibilities. The album was a commercial success, building on the momentum of their previous release, "Love," and solidifying The Cult's place in the rock scene of the late 1980s.

About The Cult

The Cult, a British rock band formed in Bradford in 1983, has evolved from their gothic post-punk roots to become one of England's leading hard rock acts. Fronted by the charismatic Ian Astbury and featuring the powerful guitar work of Billy Duffy, the band has crafted a sound that blends hard rock, glam metal, and gothic rock elements. Known for their energetic live performances and Astbury's shamanistic stage presence, The Cult has shared the stage with rock legends like Guns N' Roses, Def Lep... Read more
