Product description

This 2023 Limited Edition Reissue LP is pressed on Red vinyl.

Celebrating a decade of its initial release, Unknown Mortal Orchestra's "II" returns in a special 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, offering both new and longtime fans an immersive journey into the band's neo-psychedelic soundscapes. Originally released in 2013, this reissue comes packed with 17 tracks, including the original album's infectious grooves and dreamy melodies, as well as acoustic versions of fan favorites and previously unreleased tracks like "Two Generations of Excess" and "Waves of Confidence."

The album's neo-psychedelic roots shine through in tracks like "From The Sun" and "Swim and Sleep (Like a Shark)," blending lush, reverb-drenched guitars with rhythmic complexities that draw from krautrock and indie influences. The Deluxe Edition's acoustic renditions, such as the stripped-down version of "So Good at Being in Trouble," offer a fresh perspective on the band's catalog, highlighting the intricate songwriting of Unknown Mortal Orchestra's frontman, Ruban Nielson.

The 2xLP Aluminum Vinyl edition, released by Jagjaguwar, is a collector's dream, featuring a vibrant, eye-catching design that captures the spirit of the album's psychedelic essence. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to Unknown Mortal Orchestra's music, this Deluxe Edition is a testament to the band's enduring creativity and innovation, making it a standout addition to any music collection.

Picked this up yesterday at a record shop in Brisbane. Awesome album! Never knew this band existed until I was in the store, then I grabbed it right away. Totally worth it!

  • Awesome Album Pressing

Awesome pressing of an amazing album! You can still find some at Newbury Comics

  • Press Quality Issues

    3 out of 5 stars
    FAU6557July 19, 2025United States🇺🇸

This press isn't the best. While the mastering quality is decent, there's quite a bit of crackling and soft popping sounds, particularly on side 2. I've tried two different versions now, and both had the same issue.

  • LoFi Album, As Expected

    4 out of 5 stars
    xefxvemebadMay 9, 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

This album is pure LoFi, and the pressing embraces that completely. It's not one you'd pick for top-notch clarity or fidelity, and that's kinda the whole idea. There's a good amount of punch here, and I'd say the separation is decent too. But let's face it... It's lofi music, so you shouldn't really expect more than that.

  • Crisp Vinyl Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    joetimnMay 2, 2025United States🇺🇸

I got this a couple of years back at a show, and honestly, this version's super crisp to me. I even prefer it over the cassette version, which I also grabbed. My copy's about 93% flat (almost there!), but the sound quality is fantastic—no distortion, and it's got a ton of clarity for me. The bass really shines because you can catch every note, even when the guitar's hitting those high and low tones. I've got zero complaints here, and honestly, I think some people are just being picky... chill out, it's just music!
