Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
The powerful, resonant bass and Winston Rodney's unique vocal delivery create an entrancing rhythm that captivates throughout. My copy plays smoothly and clearly, though there's a bit of faint surface noise here and there. But hey, it's a Jamaican pressing of "Man in the Hills," complete with that classic surface noise. It's all part of the charm! I'm in love with this album. Wouldn't it be great if someone re-released the Studio One records on vinyl someday...?
Must-have for all Burning Spear enthusiasts, that's what I'm saying, farewell." (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same meaning, enthusiasm, and casual tone. It also mirrors the original's informal phrasing and the use of "so says I" in the phrase "that's what I'm saying." The error of using "bye" instead of "farewell" is preserved in the rewritten review as "farewell.")
After "Marcus Garvey," this one isn't as gripping, but with the Black Disciples behind it and Jack Ruby at the helm, it still sounds great.
This might just be the greatest sounding album I own. I could play it daily and never get sick of it.
