Product description

This 2022 Limited Edition Reissue LP is pressed on Blue vinyl.

Waxahatchee's "Out in the Storm" is a powerful and introspective alt-country album released on July 14, 2017, through Merge Records. This fourth studio album from singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield is her most guitar-driven and autobiographical work to date, showcasing her raw honesty and emotional depth. With tracks like "Never Been Wrong," "Silver," and "Recite Remorse," the album delves into themes of lost love and self-reflection, offering a poignant and cathartic experience. Clocking in at just over 32 minutes, "Out in the Storm" is a concise yet impactful collection of songs that highlight Crutchfield's considerable talents as a songwriter and performer. The album's louder, more intense sound marks a bold evolution in her musical journey, making it a standout release in her discography.

I was really hoping for a deeper bass tone on the vinyl release of this album but unfortunately this pressing just didn't deliver. The bass sounds the same as the digital version and the only gain in fidelity seems to be a minor sense of separation between the vocals and the other musical elements. I wouldn't go as far as saying that the pressing is thin, but the record does not sound that drastically different from the digital version. It's still one of my favorite albums of 2017 and I definitely don't regret owning it on vinyl.
