Haven't seen anyone talk about the audio quality, so I'll chime in. So, I ended up with two Black Ice pressings. The sound is absolutely heavenly. Those instrumentals? Out of this world, particularly on Cold Case Love and The Last Song. Barely any surface noise to speak of. Honestly, this might just be my favorite Rihanna album to date.
While not my top pick from Rihanna, this record's sound is absolutely killer! The mastering and soundstage are top-notch, with a warm and punchy delivery. I initially planned to sell it, but I think I'll be holding onto it a bit longer.
In my view, this is her finest album to date. Several tracks on here are absolute masterpieces. It's darker and heavier than anything else Rihanna has released, yet it remains incredibly pop and melodic. I haven't come across anything quite like it in all these years, except perhaps M.I.A's A.I.M album. Standout tracks include "wait your turn", "stupid in love", "Russian roulette", "photographs", "g4l", and the massive hit "rude boy".
Wow, this is an amazing record press! Amongst the 3 Rihanna albums I've got (Loud, Talk That Talk, & Rated R), this one's definitely got the best sound quality. It's incredibly rich and the bass is just phenomenal. I'd highly suggest picking this up!
