If you're after a solid version of this album, this one's nearly as good as the Reader’s Digest box set. The artwork's top-notch - no pixelation like those poor Back2Black releases. Plus, there's some great inner liner notes too.
Lately, I've fallen head over heels for ABBA and their incredible music and vibe. Born in '90, I didn't grow up with their tunes, but when I took the time to dive into their albums, I was hooked. There were a few versions out there, but I'm thrilled I stumbled upon this one! It's fantastic! It's your typical jewel case, but the artwork is super cool. The booklet is packed with info and fun tidbits about the album's release and what was going on in the band members' lives. The photos are top-notch; you'd never guess they're from the '70s. Stellar job. As for the music... I'm obsessed! Each track has this magical quality that whisks me away to a world far from where I grew up. And how nice that they threw in some bonus tracks! "Santa Rosa" is such a delightful, fun little song, I'm crazy about it!! Plus, it's a treat to hear the band singing in their native tongue (Swedish). This edition is just great!
In contrast to the original Swedish pressing I have in my collection, this new 1/2SM 45RPM Miles version is in a completely different class. The sound is crisp, dynamic, balanced, and lifelike. For me, this is a real standout and by far the best release of all Miles Showell's 1/2SM versions of ABBA albums so far (the second best for me is Super Trouper). My copy is also dead silent, technically almost perfect. Highly recommended!
This isn't Abba's finest work. It was created before their major success. However, it's not a terrible album. Quite enjoyable.
Attention all collectors! While the Indonesian versions of the ABBA deluxe albums may be official, the actual items are akin to shoddily produced bootlegs. I was utterly let down when I finally received them. 1) These are digipack versions, but the cardboard used is of poor quality (imagine the feel and print quality of a tissue box) and lacks the high-quality glossy finish you'd anticipate. The front and back covers resemble color photocopies printed on a tissue or toilet paper roll, using a printer that's nearly out of ink. 2) The plastic inserts are flimsily attached to the cardboard with subpar glue. Mine became detached. 3) The print quality of the booklet and CDs is dreadful. 4) The tax stickers on the back can't be peeled off due to the inferior glue used, and the fact that they were placed on the cheap cardboard back cover. STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS, unless you're a completist aiming to own every edition. These won't please a collector; I'll have no choice but to purchase the extremely expensive European or Japanese editions.
