Product description

This 2025 Numbered Reissue 35th Anniversary LP is pressed on 180g Blue vinyl.

Deep Purple, the legendary rock band, delivered a powerful and distinctive sound with their 1990 album "Slaves and Masters." This hard rock classic, released on Legacy Recordings, is a testament to the band's enduring talent and ability to evolve while staying true to their roots. Clocking in at 55 minutes, the album is a compact yet potent collection of tracks that showcase Deep Purple's signature energy and musical prowess.

"Slaves and Masters" features a mix of hard rock, classic rock, and rock genres, offering a diverse range of sounds that keep the listener engaged from start to finish. The album opens with "King of Dreams," setting the tone for the raw and powerful tracks that follow, including "The Cut Runs Deep" and "Fire in the Basement." The band's ability to blend intense guitar riffs with soaring vocals is evident throughout, as heard in tracks like "Truth Hurts" and "Breakfast in Bed."

The album also showcases Deep Purple's softer side with tracks like "Love Conquers All" and its edit, providing a welcome contrast to the heavier songs. The band's versatility is further highlighted in "Fortuneteller" and "Slow Down Sister," where they experiment with different musical styles while maintaining their signature sound.

Whether you're a long-time fan or new to their work, this album is sure to impress with its powerful performances and memorable tracks.

  • Turner's Triumphant Ballads

I gotta admit, this album is fantastic even though Gillan isn't here. Joe Lynn Turner's vocals are awesome, and there's some amazing ballads in this one too.

An INCREDIBLE and underappreciated DP album. The HNECD021 release is way better in graphics, audio, and dynamic range than the 2012 CD - BMG 74321 18719 2. Mastering is top-notch. Kudos to Hear No Evil Recordings!

  • Vinyl Surprise: Deep Purple's 90's Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    Buggd65December 26, 2024United States🇺🇸

Gorgeously pressed and mastered. Quite a shock considering the lack of vinyl appreciation in the early 90’s. Unsure about the transparent black vinyl though? A bit odd as a selling point and unless you're shining a strong flashlight right up close, it just appears like your regular black disc. Someone out there likened this album to a budget Foreigner! Not sure that was a fair comparison but it might show Deep Purple attempting to keep up with the glam metal trend perhaps. Either way it’s a pretty good listen and a nice addition to the collection.

  • Rainbow's Disappointing Shift

Deep Rainbow........ what a letdown. Out goes Gillan, in comes Jolene (sic) Turner. Purple turns AOR....... truly not good, at all.
