How do we keep reviews authentic?

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

Same as below. Lots of surface noise, microsratches, fingerprints. Better repress this album.Update:Much better after a vacuum cleaning, not a whole lot of pops left.

Wow, this is truly a work of beauty, Olafur Arnalds is at one of his creative peaks. One of my favorite albums of 2020 for sure.

PVC jacket = not a good idea. Remove the record from the jacket as soon as possible. It will eventually destroy the vinyl of the record itself. I suspect that some of the issues people are having is due to this phenomenon being in its beginning phase.

Mixed feelings about this one. Surface noise was about average on my copy. Definitely audible, but not enough to bother me or even comment on. My biggest issue is all of the scuffs. I don’t know what they are doing with their process, but the new record looks visually more scuffed than vinyl I have handled and played 50 times.

Really bad pressing. Surface noise, hairlines, dirt, seam split pvc sleeve and it sounds a bit muffled.

Product description

This 2024 Reissue LP is pressed on Blue vinyl.

Ólafur Arnalds delivers a masterful blend of neoclassical minimalism with some kind of peace, an album that unfolds like a delicate tapestry of sound. Released on November 6, 2020, under the Decca Music Group Ltd. label, this 10-track album spans just 38 minutes but packs a profound and immersive experience. The tracklist features collaborations with notable artists like Bonobo, JFDR, and Josin, adding layers of depth to Arnalds’ signature blend of classical and electronic influences.

Standout tracks such as Loom (feat. Bonobo) and Back To The Sky (feat. JFDR) showcase the album’s ability to merge organic instrumentation with electronic textures, creating a soundscape that feels both intimate and expansive. Meanwhile, compositions like Woven Song and The Bottom Line highlight Arnalds’ gift for melody, weaving together themes of hope and melancholy with effortless grace.

Originally released under Mercury KX, a division of Decca Music Group, some kind of peace has cemented itself as a standout in the realm of modern classical and crossover music. Whether you're drawn to its haunting ambience or its emotionally resonant motifs, this album is a testament to Arnalds’ ability to craft music that lingers long after the final note fades.
