This one sounds way way better than my first pressing. I'm surprised that such a highly anticipated and popular release wasn't pressed better from the start.
It's unthinkable that they could make something so shoddy with such disregard for materials and attention to detail like these versions of Argentina. They're absolutely terrible.
The music is fantastic, as expected. However, like others have mentioned, there seems to be an issue with this one. Whether it's the recording, mastering, or pressing, I'm not sure. But it does sound a bit tinny, thin, and almost like a beginner made it.
I must say, these new U2 vinyl reissues are quite impressive. The sound on "Boy" and "October" is richer and more robust. As for "The Unforgettable Fire," I'm not entirely convinced it's an improvement. I nearly went back to an earlier pressing, but I decided to give this version a shot. I'm really happy I did, as this record sounds phenomenal. It's got that dreamy quality that the early pressings had, along with the balanced sound of the later remasters.
The previous reviewer must have had a faulty one 'cause this sounds great. I'm no sound expert but it's pretty good. It's dynamic, with solid bass and treble that ain't too sharp. Vocals come through clear. You can't beat this for the price.
