Perfect album, pressed on a super cool new anny. Sounds amazing, zero problems!
Run Out Groove absolutely nailed it with this release. The audio quality is top-notch, the bass is robust, and surface noise is minimal. I can't praise this mastering enough. As a detail-oriented person, I'm thrilled that the incorrectly spelled word "Lewed" in the album artwork, which has been bothering me since the mid-'90s, has finally been fixed. I do wish they had better integrated some design elements like the gas mask photo or the amusing kosher certification mark on the back, but these are just small gripes. If you're looking for a version of this album to play on your turntable, this is the one. The bonus disc is also well-done, featuring cool rarities and sounding as great as the main release, but it's just a nice extra. The fact that it comes on stunning and fitting green vinyl is the cherry on top.
I finally got my hands on this gorgeous re-release! Someone in the comments mentioned that Port Of Sound was selling copies at the original price, and even with the hefty shipping costs, it was totally worth it. I owned both CD versions when they first came out, and I never got sick of TON. Sure, it's not an everyday listen, but when I'm craving some doom and gloom with a side of witty humor, no one beats the Brooklyn boys. This remaster sounds incredible, keeping the dynamic sound intact. The bass is full, the drums punchy, and there's plenty of space thanks to a super clean pressing. The green vinyl with black swirls matches the artwork perfectly, which, even though it's not high-res, looks amazing to me—maybe even better than a totally clean cover. The third record includes bonus tracks, some from the alternate CD release and different versions of album tracks, all pure TON gold, but sadly nothing new. All in all, this is green gold. YOU SUCK!
The lid's a tad misaligned, but this is a pretty solid press. Love the spin!
Excellent pressing, smooth and pristine. The LP plays perfectly, and there's hardly any static from either side of the vinyl. The separation and details are top-notch, with the bass having a great texture and not being overly boomy. I can't speak for the CD, but this vinyl reissue is definitely worth owning.
Whether you're just starting your vinyl collection or have been spinning for years, the right turntable makes all the difference. We've selected the best options for every budget.
