Certain albums endure through the years, and this is one of those timeless musical masterpieces. A treasure that feels even more impactful today than upon its release. This double LP reissue, remastered from the original analog tapes, is simply outstanding. It's freedom rock at its finest. This live performance rivals 'Pulse.' Both are essential additions to any Pink Floyd enthusiast's collection.
Amazing Pressing! I own the original Delicate Sound of Thunder and a bootleg named World Tour. Compared to this pressing, they're not even close. The Soundscape is so much better, in my opinion. The original felt like it was recorded all at once. This one makes you feel like you're actually there! Plus, the extra tracks are closer to the original setlist. Overall, go ahead and buy with confidence!
The audio quality, studio performance - all these great features are ruined by the incredibly cheap packaging. The outer box isn't sturdy cardboard, just flimsy paper - so what happens? It falls apart in no time. The individual LP covers are just as bad. Thin paper soaked in too much ink - cracks on the backside. Trying to cut costs, being so cheap, has ruined what could've been a fantastic collector's piece.
This collection is akin to "Pulses" younger sibling. The packaging is roughly 65-75% of what Pulse brings to the table, and the audio quality is approximately 50-60% of what Pulse offers. Still, "Delicate sound of thunder" is a top-notch live recording, and any PF enthusiast should have a copy of these iconic performances.
I was let down by the packaging, it's not as good as the pulse edition. I pre-ordered it as a collector and expected something similar for the price. The music's been fine so far.
