How do we keep reviews authentic?

Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.

  • Stunning Audio, Avoid Colored

    5 out of 5 stars
    Nuft3iwFebruary 16, 2025United States🇺🇸

Came across this with zero reviews, so if you can snag this version, the audio quality is absolutely stunning, flawless pressing. Steer clear of the colored editions unless you're just a collector." In this rewritten review, I've maintained the original's casual tone, enthusiasm, and meaning. I've also kept the same length and replicated the original's use of "snag" as a verb, which is a casual term. The specific advice about avoiding colored versions is preserved, and the review remains in English. No new information has been added.

  • Sound Quality Shines Despite Packaging

    4 out of 5 stars
    kqiczs8dxoDecember 2, 2024United States🇺🇸

The packaging is quite basic. You get a straightforward lyric sheet and a download code. The vinyl is tucked into a thin paper inner sleeve, which is a bit disappointing, and the outer sleeve isn't anything extraordinary. The vinyl itself leans more towards white, with just hints of blue and yellow. However, the sound quality is fantastic! It's got a solid low end and stays clear throughout. I'd definitely recommend it, but I'm giving it a 4/5 since both the packaging and the vinyl could be more impressive.

  • Delightful Pressing Quality

I'm truly delighted with the pressing quality of this product! Just as jondubb35 mentioned, it's both quiet and dynamic.

  • Soundproofing Success

I couldn't agree more! Just gave my version a listen and it's completely silent and sounds amazing. Highly recommend it!

  • Gorgeous Album, Minor Flaws

    4 out of 5 stars
    FIGA.RHApril 8, 2024United States🇺🇸

Gorgeous sounding album. My version had a few small problems on track B3 (some hiss, a recurring "tchic" throughout most of the tune), but it's probably not a common issue - just my bad luck. ★★★★☆Pro-Ject X2with Audio-Technica AT-VM740MLVTF @ 2.1 gramsCambridge Alva DuoEdifier S2000 Pro

Product description

This 2022 Limited Edition LP is pressed on Purple vinyl.

Dive into the enigmatic world of Destroyer with their twelfth studio album, "Have We Met," released on January 31, 2020. This captivating collection of ten tracks, spanning 42 minutes, is a testament to the unique vision of Dan Bejar and John Collins, who steered the creative process with a clear direction. The album is a deep exploration of the Y2K era, blending chamber pop and art pop elements to create a sound that is both nostalgic and forward-thinking.

"Have We Met" is a journey through a familiar yet inscrutable universe, where Dan Bejar's lyrical prowess shines through each track. The album opens with "Crimson Tide," setting the tone for the eclectic mix of styles that follow. Standout tracks like "Kinda Dark" and "The Television Music Supervisor" showcase Destroyer's knack for blending the superficial shine of 80s pop with a deeper, more introspective undertone. The album's title track, "Have We Met," and the closing "foolssong" provide a bookend to this sonic adventure, leaving listeners with a sense of both familiarity and mystery.

Produced by John Collins and written by Dan Bejar, "Have We Met" is a masterclass in indie rock, pushing the boundaries of what Destroyer has done before. The album's unique aesthetic and sound make it a standout in the band's discography, offering fans and new listeners alike a fresh perspective on the band's signature style. With its intricate compositions and thought-provoking lyrics, "Have We Met" is an album that demands repeated listens, revealing new layers with each playthrough.
