From beginning to end, this is fantastic. I gave myself a hard time after listening all the way through for not getting this sooner. The remaster sounds great, fits perfectly on vinyl despite the not-so-perfect production. Go get one!

  • Revelatory Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    Silvia JenkinsSeptember 30, 2025United States🇺🇸

This album has been a bit overlooked by me...it's high time I rectified that and gave it more attention. The pressing is better than average, the record is nearly perfect, it plays smoothly and without any distortion. The sound quality is fantastic in my view, I can't compare it to other versions as I last heard this album ages ago on cassette and then mp3...so honestly, it's quite a revelation how good it can sound, I'm really enjoying it, the only thing I'd say is that it sounds clearer, but not harsh. The cover is standard but perfectly fine. I'd recommend it. Let's live life to the fullest...like with music. Product description

This is a 1990 Reissue released as a LP.

Metallica's debut studio album, Kill 'Em All, is a groundbreaking masterpiece that shattered the boundaries of heavy metal music upon its release on 25 July 1983. This iconic album, released through the independent label Megaforce Records, marked the beginning of a new era in thrash metal, leaving an indelible mark on the genre.

Recorded and mixed at Music America in May 1983, Kill 'Em All boasts a raw, unbridled energy, with heavy riffs played at breakneck speeds. The album's sound is a testament to Metallica's unrelenting passion and dedication to their craft. From the opening notes of 'Hit the Lights' to the closing chords of 'Metal Militia', this album is a sonic onslaught that showcases the band's technical prowess and musical ferocity.

Although it did not achieve immediate commercial success, Kill 'Em All has since become a hugely influential record, selling over three million copies to date. The album's original title, 'Metal Up Your Ass', was rejected by the record company, prompting Cliff Burton to suggest the title 'Kill 'Em All' with his characteristic irreverence.

With its blistering pace, aggressive riffs, and pummeling rhythms, Kill 'Em All is an unapologetic, uncompromising masterpiece that has stood the test of time. Metallica's debut album is a must-listen for fans of heavy metal and thrash metal, offering a glimpse into the band's formative years and their unwavering commitment to creating music that is both powerful and unrelenting.
