  • Perfect Pressing, Amazing Album

Amazing Album and a totally perfect Pressing! I repeat to get enough words. Great Pressing!

  • Dreadful Quality Control

    4 out of 5 stars
    Henry HuntSeptember 10, 2025United States🇺🇸

The quality control for this release is absolutely dreadful. It took me three tries to finally get a copy that didn't have surface noise and only had a slight warp. It's just terrible.

  • Relaxing Album Worth Owning

    4 out of 5 stars

Fantastic album for unwinding and chilling out. The sound quality is superb, with minimal noise. It's definitely one of my top picks and absolutely worth owning.

  • Arcade Fire's Energetic Gem

    5 out of 5 stars
    Andrew BertrandJuly 6, 2025United States🇺🇸

I'm gradually warming up to this album and genuinely enjoying it, even though Arcade Fire isn't typically my cup of tea—I'm trying to find my way into their music, and isn't that what exploring music is all about? I'm unsure about the sound quality; it's quite good, but I always feel like there's something missing, perhaps intentionally so (I don't have another version to compare it with). Turning up the volume helps a bit (maybe they intended for it to be played loud, and that's the solution...), but it's dull when it's quiet. The pressing (I have a second copy, as the first one was faulty) is quite good, and after cleaning, it sounds crisp with no cracking, popping, or distortion. The cover design is above standard. I'd recommend it. Played on: Technics SL-100C, Audio-Technica VM-95ML (sometimes VMN95-E or C), (Rega Fono Mini A2D MK2/built-in phono preamp), Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777, Vinyl Cleaner Pro-Ject VC-E Update 20251017: After several listens, I feel compelled to share my thoughts and will intentionally keep my original rating. Initially, this album was quite challenging for me, with too much happening both in terms of content and sound. What I've gathered is that the album requires a certain volume; it's not ideal for quiet evening listening. It's full of energy that needs to be unleashed completely. With repeated listening, many details emerge. Due to the wealth of information, I believe a better listening setup would be beneficial, and then it's truly worth it. My current speakers hold me back, but even with partial upgrades to my listening chain, I've gained more from albums like this. The sound isn't boring as I initially thought. It's astonishing. However, it requires proper and repeated listening. The second pressing isn't perfect either, as the records are slightly bent, but they play cleanly and without distortion, which is the main thing. I'm raising my rating and highly recommend it. Give it time, and it will grow on you... Played on: Technics SL-100C, Ortofon Concorde Music Bronze, Rega Fono MM MK5, Technics SU-G700M2, Yamaha NS-777, Vinyl Cleaner Pro-Ject VC-E

  • Needs Better Mastering

    4 out of 5 stars
    Raúl PeñaMay 30, 2025United States🇺🇸

The pressing's alright, but the mastering's just okay, some tracks feel flat, you gotta add lots of extras to your system to bring it to life. Truth be told, this awesome album could really use a better treatment, with more oomph and dynamics.

Product description

This is a 2017 Reissue released as a 2LP set.

Arcade Fire's 2010 release, "The Suburbs," is a sprawling, genre-blending journey through the complexities of suburban life, masterfully crafted with their signature indie rock sound infused with baroque pop elements. Clocking in at just over an hour and fourteen minutes, this album is a rich tapestry of introspective lyrics and dynamic instrumentation.

From the hauntingly beautiful "The Suburbs" to the collaborative "Speaking in Tongues" featuring David Byrne, each track offers a unique perspective on themes of nostalgia, alienation, and the search for meaning in modern life. The album's standout tracks, such as "Ready to Start," "Modern Man," and "We Used to Wait," showcase Arcade Fire's ability to blend personal storytelling with universal emotions, creating a sound that is both deeply personal and widely relatable.

"The Suburbs" is not just a collection of songs but a cohesive narrative that explores the duality of suburban existence—its comforts and its constraints. The album's structure, with its two-part "Half Light" and "Sprawl" tracks, adds a layer of depth and continuity, making it a compelling listen from start to finish. Released under Sony Music CG, this album solidified Arcade Fire's reputation as one of the most innovative and thought-provoking bands of their generation. Whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer to their music, "The Suburbs" offers a captivating exploration of the human experience through the lens of suburban life.
