Product description

This 1982 Reissue LP is housed in a gatefold.

Released in the summer of 1968, In Search Of The Lost Chord marks the Moody Blues’ bold leap into psychedelic and symphonic rock, blending lush orchestration with introspective lyrics. The album soared to number 5 on the UK Albums Chart and number 23 on the Billboard 200, solidifying the band’s growing influence in the late '60s rock scene.

At the heart of the record is a loose concept exploring themes of spiritual discovery and human curiosity, reflected in standout tracks like the dreamy "Ride My See-Saw" and the sprawling, mystical closer "Om." The band’s signature blend of baroque pop, blues, and experimental flourishes shines through, with Justin Hayward, John Lodge, and Mike Pinder’s songwriting crafting an immersive soundscape. The album’s enduring appeal is evident in its lasting influence, from its chart success to its ability to captivate new generations—even inspiring a nine-year-old to pick a track at a youth club decades later.

With its rich harmonies, innovative use of the mellotron, and a balance of lighthearted melodies and deeper musings, In Search Of The Lost Chord remains a defining work of the era, showcasing the Moody Blues at their most adventurous and cohesive.

Ce n'est pas du matériel pour audiophile mais ça sonne pas trop mal et les titres sont top.

  • Kevin Gray Remaster Tops US Pressings

This Kevin Gray remaster beats any US pressing I've heard—trust me, I’ve sampled plenty. Highly suggested.

  • Best Moody Blues Album Pressing

    5 out of 5 stars
    kosilo.janjFebruary 22, 2026United States🇺🇸

I've got the original UK pressing, the MOFI CD, the 2008 remaster, and now this (still holding out for the box set and that 5.1 mix). This and *To Our Children's Children's Children* are probably my top Moody Blues albums—though I might say something different tomorrow. I'm a sucker for the original UK pressing, and the MOFI is super easy to listen to, which I appreciate. This pressing is solid, and if you're after one that's clean and plays great, this is the one to grab. The bass really stands out to me—especially when "Departure" kicks in, I just knew this was gonna be a winner. Like most of their albums, this one’s still easy on the ears (they’re the kind of band that should *always* sound that way), and they didn’t go overboard trying to smack you in the face with it. Seriously, don’t sleep on this one.

Spotted a wicked clear copy of this one. The vinyl’s got that see-through look.
