  • Young Vinyl Enthusiast's First Purchase

    5 out of 5 stars
    Henry MéndezDecember 18, 2025United States🇺🇸

As a young, 13-year-old vinyl enthusiast, this was among my first record purchases. I got hooked by the RCA Music Club's offer: 13 records for just a penny! But there was a catch—it signed me up for their monthly record club, and my parents were understandably mad when they found out. It took every cent of my paper route earnings to pay for it all. Still, I scored some solid albums along the way, and this was definitely one of the highlights.

  • Czech Pressing Impresses

Still unsure about picking this up? Go for it! I'm aware it was pressed in the Czech, which hasn't always been the best, but they've really stepped it up this time. The sound quality is fantastic, even better than I anticipated. I snagged it for $10.55, and it's way better than getting a cheaper copy filled with static.

  • Japanese Remaster Sounds Stunning

    5 out of 5 stars
    Marie KowalczykDecember 12, 2024United States🇺🇸

This Japanese remaster sounds absolutely stunning. It's rich, expansive, and punchy, with vocals and instruments that are crisply defined. I've got a bunch of vinyl pressings of this album, and honestly, most of them sound a bit muddy and congested. But this CD really brings out the true beauty of the record. Plus, the bonus tracks are worth the price alone, with Lodge's "Isn't Life Strange" being a standout.

  • Best Sounding Classic Album

    5 out of 5 stars
    Jacqueline MarshallNovember 16, 2024United States🇺🇸

Among my many copies of this classic album, this one stands out as the best sounding in my collection. It's just a standard Sterling pressing, but it boasts a remarkably wide soundstage. The overall mix is perfectly balanced, with vocals clearly distinct, the drums and bass, often muddled, now tight and crisp, and that Mellotron—it's never sounded this good. Pinder's mastery of the instrument truly shines here. The string arrangements are spot on, perfectly placed in the mix. I'm absolutely delighted with this version and it'll definitely be my go-to from now on.

Product description

This is a 1985 Reissue released as a LP.

Seventh Sojourn is the eighth studio album by the legendary British band The Moody Blues, released in November 1972. Marking a significant milestone in their career, this album peaked at No. 5 in the UK and became the band’s first number-one record in the United States, spending five weeks atop the charts. A masterful blend of progressive rock, symphonic rock, and baroque pop, Seventh Sojourn showcases the band’s signature blend of lush orchestration, soaring vocals, and intricate compositions.

With a runtime of nearly 40 minutes, the album features seven tracks, each a standout in its own right. The opener, Lost In A Lost World, sets the tone with its haunting melodies and philosophical lyrics, while New Horizons and Isn’t Life Strange deliver anthemic choruses and dynamic arrangements. For My Lady offers a tender, romantic ballad, and I’m Just A Singer (In A Rock And Roll Band)—one of the album’s most iconic tracks—reflects on the life of a musician with poignant introspection. The closing track, When You’re A Free Man, brings the album full circle with its uplifting message and rich harmonies.

Recorded between January and September 1972, Seventh Sojourn captures the band at the height of their creative powers. The album’s production, handled by Tony Clarke, is crisp and immersive, with the Moody Blues’ layered instrumentation—featuring Justin Hayward’s guitar, John Lodge’s bass, and Mike Pinder’s Mellotron—creating a sound that’s both timeless and ahead of its time. Whether you're a longtime fan or discovering their music for the first time, Seventh Sojourn remains a defining work in progressive rock, offering a listening experience that’s as rewarding as it is enduring.
